About the painting: After spending a few days in the landscape with the canvas and the colors, I am drawn to the studio and continue to paint and erase and discover the initial painting. The hills are basaltic hills and there is a sense of metal in the air, the greens and the blue always look different to me there. Artist Statement Zohar Cohen, an active artist since 1999. The unique style of painting is a personal language that I have created over the years influenced by my encounter with place and time. Drawing in small lines, brushing her hair, soft oil or tempera colors, in colors that give me a soft color range, overlooking the seal, on smooth, smooth cloth. Throughout the process I feel the need to cancel, the visible, the image, the landscape, the goal, all the cancellations activate me. In the final product I want the viewer to experience an observation that has quiet underneath.
