About The Artwork
Inspired by my travels to the Cyclades not so long ago...... On a magical summer's day I found myself memsmerised by the irridescent light on crystal clear marine blue water. I hope you will feel a sense of being drawn into the intense colours of summer blues and caught up in the incredible feeling of light and love in that moment. I chose to use acrylics and watercolours as they create a lasting creative expression and are so easy to work with and develop a sense of light and transparency. I love that they are easy to dissolve (less toxic to our environment than oils). Creating art means making something that will last and last. I made this work into a print so that I could enlarge it from its original intended small travel size on canvas - creating a playful sense of disproportion in this intention.
