"On a Distant Shore" Painting

I am a contemporary British Artist. In my work I try to evoke the essence of the British landscape: the elemental forces and unique quality of light and atmosphere that shape our countryside, coasts, fens and rivers. My working process evolves intuitively through an engagement with materials and process, responding to marks, shapes, colour and texture. Overall, I endeavour to convey a sense of place, a feeling rather than a representation.
