About The Artwork

This series of works uses paint and color as an emotional response to music. Orange a sense of deep joy. Color Symphony; Orange. This piece is from a series of works uses paint and color as an emotional response to the music. I was asked to collaborate with a symphony and create pieces inspired by the musical performance. "Pouring paint and staining the canvas to create the tone and movement of the piece. This technique uses thinned-down paint to create the first layer of the abstract paintings in response to the music. I then begin to add layers, brush strokes and color using thicker, opaque paint, continuing to build up the painting with color, tone, shapes, and mark making to finalize the composition. Music is an arrangement a composition made up of smaller pieces to create a composition similar to the buildup and process of a painting. Movement and counter movement." A percentage of the sales will be donated to Orange County Arts Council Grants programs. The OCAC Community Arts Grants are designed to encourage new and more abundant arts and culture opportunities in Orange County, in hope to support young musicians and visual artists.
