About The Artwork
Materials birch ply, vegetable dye, acrylic paint, inks, watercolour paint, violet metallic paint, violet metallic paint, red paint, blue paint Dimensions Height: 30 Centimetres; Width: 30 Centimetres This original abstract landscape collage artwork is made by painting sheets of birch ply in colour gradients. I have cut the sheets into fine strips and carefully compose and order them with one another to create a blend of the gradations. I use a rich combination of colours and tones which when juxtaposed to each other create an effect of soft hazy landscapes. The piece can come ready framed in this white box frame with a UV perspex glaze. The glaze protects the painting from sun fades and helps to ship my work worldwide. 30cm x 30cm approx Framed Artworks come signed both on the reverse of the artwork itself inside the frame and also on the backing board on the reverse of the box frame. Abstract artist, Amelia Coward is renowned for her explorations into mixing, blending and grading colours, with a growing international profile. Born in 1975, she holds a 1st class Honours from Central St Martins and MA from the Royal College of Art. Her artworks can be found in both private and corporate collections worldwide. Amelia creates artworks that focus on the interaction of colours combined with the carefully composed spacial balance between geometric elements such as circles and stripes. Influenced by her woven textile training she uses laser cutters much the same way as she was trained to use a loom, cutting geometric shapes then reassembling them in patchwork compositions. Located in a traditional Oast Barn in the Kent countryside, Amelia combines her prolific making of new pieces with her commercial giftware business, Bombus. Each influences the other. Amelia has a team of creative makers in her studio to help to assemble, photograph, frame and pack all the works.
