About The Artwork
This original hand painted oil painting has been inspired by visits to Australian rainforests. The orchids add a touch of colour amongst the muted greens. I hope the stillness that can be found in such places is reflected in this particular artwork. This piece has been painted on a 100 x 70 cm stretched canvas and set into a wooden floating frame leaving the standard 0.5 cm between the image and the 1 cm wooden frame. The artwork has been varnished and is wired and ready to hang. The painting will be sent as a framed stretched canvas and will be carefully packaged in line with established industry standards. It has been signed on the front and a Certificate of Authenticity will be sent with the painting.

Born and educated in London, where I trained and worked as a professional photographer, I specialised in portraiture, fashion and commercial photography, as well as cinematography, for over a decade. After further study and relocating to New Zealand where I worked as a lecturer, I took to painting and soon realised there was a way to merge my love of photography with that of paint as a medium. Years of experimenting with materials enabled me to further develop my interest in the arts and visual media. I gained immense personal satisfaction and fulfilment in painting as well as small-scale furniture making, finding I was able to express myself through the use of colour and shape in both disciplines. My works are all hand painted on large canvases using a variety of techniques and materials including acrylics, inks and resin.
