I was inspired by the graceful orchid standing against the morning light which came through the muslin curtains, and by the contrast between the gentle rhythms in the shape of the plant against the blue drapes and geometric pattern of the kelim table cover. The transparency of watercolour felt the perfect medium to bring out the delicacy of the subject. it is painted on heavy quality Arches acid free paper complete with a white window mount.
