One of a series, inspired by research into the archaeological record of human identity and modern computer migration models. Wax is a metaphor for the mercurial property of our histories, as they are re evaluated and re told over time. Wax holds the constant potential for change and reworking, it can be manipulated to assume human like, sensual skin qualities and highly textured surfaces that capture the working process. One piece constructed from 2 board panels and full wax section. Background layers of muted blue, orange and white pigments suspended in wax holding a raised wax disk with wax coated ink drawing on Chinese rice paper. A raised wax 'label slot' connects a white colour field background. The ink drawing is inspired by computer migration models for ancient peoples, the slot is a metaphor for the labelling and classification of identity.
