Organique No.14_P Painting

The abstract painting "Organique No.14_P comes from the "Organique" series inspired by the dynamics of nature - referring to its hidden structures and internal fragments. This is an original abstract painting on 350 gram chalk paper, painted with acrylic paints by Joanna Pongowska. Organique series on paper are a complementary cycle to the same title series on canvas. The creation begun in 2017 but as far as series on canvas were completed and presented at the exhibition in 2018, I continue to paint paper series in the following years. Inspiration comes from the dynamics of nature – colors,  hidden structures and connections. Same as in canvas series, means of expression are: a saturated range of colors, strongly marked elements, flat colored spots, rhythmic shapes contrasting with a more uniform background, referring to the graphic, quick form of the sign and the poster. The size of the paintings is a direct reference to a B1 poster size –  100 x 70 cm. About 1.5 cm of white border separates the image from the edge of the paper, which is the intended action, allowing, among others, for a framing without passe-partout, keeping the white frame around the painting (close-up in the photos). The painting is sold without frames and is sent in a roll / sealed cardboard tube Acrylic paints, due to their characteristics of water-based paints, sometimes cause slight waving of the paper - this is a natural effect of this technique used on paper.
