"Our Historic American Trails" acrylic painting captures America's exploration, migration, struggle, trade, and military action throughout the years. Julie is a member of the DAR. American society of women who have researched their family genealogy back to the American Revolution. Every year DAR reaches out to its 180,000 members to create a specific piece of art with a particular theme. This year the topic is “Educating the Next Generation on Our Historic American Trails” Julie uses the sky and fireworks to represent the American trials through time. The rocket represents Nasa and space exploration. Military struggles raising the flag on Iwo Jima. A stagecoach crossing our land in migration, and the Statue Of Liberty showing struggles and trade. The excitement and colors in the atmosphere against the solid building of the white house indicate the house's strength and endurance over time. "Our Historic American Trails" has placed 2nd.
