About The Artwork

For some time I was inspired by the work of the American abstractionist Jackson Pollock. I was also interested in following the German artist Gerhard Richter. In the «Past / Future» painting, you can see a combination of the stylistics of these two artists. Although they are the founders of their own direction, the abstraction itself is international. At the time of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, I was in the USA and I was already painting in Germany. I was already painting in Germany, during the war. The painting «Past / Future» took place in an improvised form, with no plan or reference to a title. But the main feeling in its creation was the experience of the war in Ukraine. Injustice to the way Russia spreads false information, how it does not recognize this war and tries to make a peacemaker of itself. It is historically reminiscent of Russia's war against Finland, with the same methods of propaganda and distortion. There are yellow and blue colors in the work. When you look at them in detail, they are separated from each other, but in general they are united, located as on the flag of Ukraine. Russia is trying to destroy this symbolism, to erase its meaning in the middle of an independent state, to divide people. Looking at how conscious countries reacted to this, you can see that in many parts of the world appeared Ukrainian blue and yellow colors. Did this make foreigners become Ukrainians? Probably not. But the symbols of Ukraine have become international thanks to this support. It opened up to other people supporting justice, respect and freedom to choose. People united into something whole. Just as I borrowed the style of the artists who inspire me, something similar happens when many artists around the world display the symbols of Ukraine, thereby continuing its idea of freedom and independence. P.S. 50% of the sale of the painting will go to support Ukrainian volunteers.

I was born in 1988 Ukraine. Now I live and work in Germany. The first person who influenced my creativity, was my father. I often watched as he paints or draws premises. I started painting in 2009. My work was influenced by the works of artists such as Kazuo Shiraga, Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky, Gerhard Richter. In 2013,I worked half a year in South Korea and began creating my first series of abstract painting using acrylic and ballpen techniques. In 2014, in collaboration with other artists, I organized an event entitled "Experimental space", where I first displayed all my work. 2015-2016 brought me to China where I created several series of paintings using oil on canvas in an abstract expressionism style. During these two years, I also organized a solo exhibition where I took part in 4 international exhibitions. In 2022, when Russia went to war with my country, I temporarily moved to Germany. Through my works I hopes to showcase formless movements, moving outside of time, and the flow of energy that surrounds all living things. I finds inspiration in natures elements; water, fire, wind, earth. I belief that human beings are one with our planet and we have the Creator.
