About The Artwork
I've adored Mark Rothko's art since I first encountered one of his paintings at an art museum in NY City when I was a kid. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen hanging on a wall. Like my first encounter with Monet's work in person at the Boston MFA in 1968, I was overwhelmed. Swooned, even. Some art has that effect on me. Anyway, I've tried to make my own Rothkos, in different colors and sizes, but they rarely speak to me. But this one (above) has stuck with me for a while. I might make more, with hints of landscapes like LANDSCAPE BLUE GREEN. Stay tuned... Put a print of this on a wall and go on about your day. But you'll come back, relax, and meditate or something. It'll do ya good.
