ABOUT THE ARTWORK
POOL PARTY is an original work inspired by the work of the artist John Register. I saw a show of his a few years back at Pepperdine and I was struck by not only his masterful painting style and composition but also by the absence of figures in his work which I found provocative as a figurative artist. It made me wonder who could have been sitting in those empty red booths or whether anyone would ever again. Hence the mystery, the loneliness, the possibilities...and the appeal. POOL PARTY suggests all of that to me.
