About The Artwork
Located in a village of strong fishing tradition, the Paço de Arcos Beach is laid along the mouth of the Tagus River. From here we can contemplate the riverine shore and the Atlantic ocean coast that surrounds Lisbon. Up to mid XIXth century, this beach was a highly importante bathing site, in particular for the upper bourgeoisie and middle classes, being frequently visited also by the Portuguese Kings.
