About The Artwork
This work belongs to the " Painting Blocks " series. It is a play on words and similarities with "Building Blocks" and is inspired by this set of architectural constructions. It is geometric and minimalist abstraction based on aerial landscapes of the Sierra de Madrid. The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame and artwork is ready to hang. Framing is not required. It is signed on the front and on the back and is delivered with a certificate of authenticity.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
