Here is a video I put together to share the journey of the Road Trip of painting this series of landscapes https://youtu.be/MRSaGQV-v98 I have been painting for over 25 years. And every time I go out and paint on location I get nervous. There is a pressure to really capture what is in front of you. But I wish to feel like a bird in the sky. I want the painting to have a freedom of movement. I find the very difficult but necessary. While painting this particular landscape I really wrestled and struggled to abandon my creativity to capture that wind. That invisible energy of movement. I risked making a really bad painting. But I really fell into the painting. I ultimately felt like an insect that hit the wind shield of a moving car on a highway. I was some crazy compulsive artist painting outside. It was have been a comedy for those walking past. I laughed and smiled inside. But intensely I jumped into the moment. I was working and working hard. The release and amount of paint I used was significant. I really felt successful, and feel proud of this painting very much. Connecting with Nature.
