from Paintings by The Book project I`m using books which are part of my own artistic biography to determine the variables of overlapping and divergence between commercial and art value. I`m evaluating the chances of failure and success of an art product and the artist behind it. I have been fascinated by the faceless self-promotion and the potential forms of transmediating your-self. As a painter the ways of the market “truth” inspired me to focus on my commercially damaged books and more specifically on the covers. The goal is to take the fight to a wider battlefield by arbitrarily objectifying the cover of the book and not what`s inside. The outcome of this artistic incest will give the public a new meaning of the commercial and art values. I`m creating a new value buy simply following the old means of the painting. The five books: 1. No Portrait For The Artist, Janet-45, 2007 2. Urban Joga For Begginers, Ciela, 2008 3. Local Heroes, Ciela, 2010 4. Everything Is Included In The Price, Janet-45, 2012 5. Half-Life, Janet-45, 2015 The book covers are not my work.

Bulgaria
Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, i work with various subjects of the day often with the means of sharp irony. The iconography I use possess harsh and critical imagery. It’s all about stakes, skills and storyteling. Figurative contemporary art with a fine touch of social message, humor and artist condition message. When are we more sincere - when we lose or when we win? I examine the personal and the external, the conscious and the unconscious reducing the distance between the portrait and the self-portrait, the present and the past. Tracing the changing attitude towards the themes of freedom, carelessness, responsibility, guilt.
