VIEW IN MY ROOM
This painting began as an experiment with an optical illusion that transforms into its opposite perspective. This dipolar morphism led to the Greek legend of Pandora, who was entrusted with a box of blessings and, overcome by curiosity, opened the lid, releasing them as curses that swarmed (with one exception) out to infest the world. The blessing that did not escape and remained was "hope", and that beam of hope became the core of the painting. As it developed, another of my central obsessions - the aesthetic geometrical mathematics of the Golden Mean - rose to the fore, and this work became a meditation on the relationship between diametrical opposition and progressive transformation. My hope is that my work acts as a catalyst to inquisitive speculation, a window on your wall to an open mindscape.
