About The Artwork
The main inspiration on this piece was the wonderful, calm, contemplative, sleepy pose. At the time I was very self contemplative and felt strongly about the words we think and say about ourselves can be helpful or hurtful. We rarely see the truth of what someone truly thinks of themselves and to have these words displayed on the skin for all to see is vulnerability. I wanted the boldness of graphic lettering and bright colors to contrast the otherwise quiet of the piece.
