The artist paints local scenes where she lives, in downtown Evanston, Illinois, USA. She's inspired by triumphant shafts of light that break over a wall. This is a painting she has made from a series of underpasses near her home. She noticed a woman on a bike passing under the train tracks and wanted to convey motion. So she blurred some of the edges of the figure to make it more dynamic. She hopes that viewers will identify with the colors of the City. The figure is illuminated by a backdrop of colorful light from a mural.
