About The Artwork
Lovely Persephone who was kidnapped by Hades, God of the Underworld, brought so much sorrow to her mother, the Goddess of plants, flowers, harvest, that the earth was in danger of starving as she lost all interest in tending to her work/duties. Hades finally agreed to let her daughter back out to bring the Spring time and happiness back for half the year. This painting was inspired by the young model, and the innocents and dreamers who are needed to bring hope and idealism to the world. Even though she may be stuck in the underworld, she keeps her dream alive and reappears in the Spring.
