Philosopher Painting

To the understanding of art you come gradually. Years pass until you learn to feel the history of art as a continuous creative flow. Trying to feel yourself in this energy flow, find your way. The history of art consists of personalities of artists who live in their time, feed on the ideas of this time, and some, ahead of it, lay the program of concepts and plastic searches for new generations. The most interesting thing in art is the imprint of the artist's personality. For me, contact with the material I work with is always important, without this contact, the sense of inner balance is disturbed. Images, as a rule, are born spontaneously according to the principle of improvisation. Improvisation is a refrain through all my work. In it there is a combination of the immersion method in the unconscious with the further, already conscious, form control. My search is aimed at the synthesis of one's own feelings and states with the sensation of the elements of the material. At this junction an image is born which first focuses on the canvas and then is processed. I combine the structural elements, the reference points of the composition, with an expressive manner of performance. With this method of work, it is important that the spontaneous action and the elements of the material are under the control of consciousness, so that the creative act does not turn into chaos. I'm looking for connections in the work of a pictorial and graphic beginning, dynamic and static, local and textured, soft and hard, that is - working at maximum contrasts, at the limit of expressiveness.
