Title: Place of power / 2015 Size: 36cm x 48cm (14.17in x 18.89in) Style: Expressionism Material: Mixed media, Acrylic Color, Oil Pastels Pens on Watercolor Paper 450 mg Technique: Here several opaque color layers were superimposed. Especially because of its short drying time, the acrylic paints are very suitable for this painting technique. In this picture layers were repeatedly removed with a wet sponge, thereby creating interesting structures in the walls of the buildings. Partly the acrylic paint was dried and no longer removable. To match the Expressionist style, I have set colored lines with different width brushes and oil pastel pens. Finally, the painting was fixed with a Capaplex mixture, which gave the picture a slight shine. Theme: There are many possibilities for interpretation of the term power place: the small altar in the own garden, a pilgrimage church, a spring up to the stone circle of Stonehenge. The variety of these places can best be represented by a temporal sequence: The simple places such as springs, mountains, unusual rock formations, waterfalls, Forest clearings or special earth energies: These were marked by the people corresponding, by wooden piles, cairns or animal skins (totems). Out of this grew later earth stalls, stone circles, menhirs, rows of stones. These - often monumental plants - were used by the shamans, druids or priests for astronomical calculations and served as solar, lunar or star observatories. It was built u.a. certain fixation points in the structures that made these observations possible (for example, the sundew times). The knowledge that has thus been stored and expanded in these plants we now know as the "sacred geometry" found in structures such as the Solar Pyramids of Mexico, the Pyramids of Giza, the Stone Circles of Stonehenge and Goseck and the Great Cathedrals in France reflect. The place of power was and still is the place of "re-ligio", the back-link with the essence of nature and God. Germany
Born 1959 in Duesseldorf, Germany In 1996, my exploration of abstract and figural painting and in-depth studies began various academies at home and abroad. In 2009 I moved to Little Rock, Arkansas / USA and since then, painting has become my creative center, another form of life as a freelance artist. My current themes emerge from daily life. Experienced, dreamy situations captivate me and want to be implemented in various variations of collage, assemblage and painting. Current events and a look into the future bring exciting things to light. In Little Rock, Arkansas and Miami, Florida / USA I have been able to present my pictures in numerous group / charity exhibitions. At the end of 2012 I returned to Germany, since then I live in Bad Aibling and have a studio in Pullach near Bad Aibling. 2013 Beginning of an intensive art study at the Leonardo Art Academy Salzburg / Austria with successfully completed masterclass in November 2017 with Prof. Hannes Baier. I experiment with many materials: e.g. Shoe polish, dishwashing liquid, wax, flour, semolina, curd, egg also in combination with casein, resin-oil mixtures, paste, all kinds of colors in the form of pigments, chalks, oil pastel pencils, gouache, acrylic, ink, sand, varnish, stain or smalt , The accumulation of various liquids often leads to unpredictable effects, which are not achieved by the structure of a brush or paint knife. This makes the use of these techniques and materials so irresistible. Different expression variants are achieved due to the painting style.
