About The Artwork
I found a family of birds living on my roof before painting this. I've had been watching the mother and father birds interacting a lot over the little while that they'd been living there. They'd eat from my bird feeder together, bath in my bird bath, and defend each other from attack from other birds. I found it amazing to see the human like relationships between the wildlife around us. I titled this piece Pool Party specifically for this reason. I wanted the viewer to mainly focus on the birds and the relationship between them. That is why I chose to use a dark back drop. I hope that the viewer will realize the complexity within the minds of the creatures that share the Earth with us.
