About The Artwork
Portrait of a Young Girl, is an adaptation of an early Dutch Renaissance painting by the same name by Petrus Cristus. I have brought a classical image from the 15th century into the 21st. I find the aristocratic clothes both fascinating and engaging. I've added an air of mystery by giving her what looks like a veil using a screen printing method onto the canvas.
