Diptych. The works were made on the basis of images generated by the Midjourney artificial intelligence program using the prompt “possibility of peace”. Most of all I was intrigued by the errors in those results. The pigeons with three wings and unknown animals with feathers that for some reason were red etc. It seems to me that when you give to Midjourney a simple 2-3 word prompt, it produces something very superficial, the kind of collective unconscious in which it was taught. I saw this process as an illustration of a situation where we just want “everything to be OK” and don’t want to pick sides. There are situations when trying to escape the responsibility of choosing and doing “good for everyone” turns into a disturbing nightmare.

Over the past 8 years, I have changed many places of residence. After moving, I began to think more often about my identity, who I am, what nationality and culture I belong to? These thoughts led me to the fact that, having been born in a big city, and having a complex ethnic composition of ancestors, the only thing I am sure of is the plants that I associate with home. After moving to New York City I started doing series of painting using vegetation around me. Right next to our new home in the park or on neighbouring streets or in distant areas.
