About The Artwork

>Praise of Painting< with heavy golden Museum Frame, MAMU's Song of Song of Art 1987. The painting, acryl on canvas, measures in cm 100x120 and the frame 130x160. Between painting and frame there is space left about one hand wide. So white wall is to be seen, as usually the wall in an ancient museum is white. This empty space, framing the canvas, corresponds with the empty frames in the painting. The painting reveals a view on a museal hall hung with paintings, which are just in the process to come into being. While the first visitors have arrived in order to see, what they expect to see, up in the air there is a cloud of mythical creatures floating, the Muses of the museum. Their performance is lightness, swiftness, cheerfulness. Overnight the Muses are handling brushes to give birth to the paintings. They give birth to all the famous genii in the blind canvasses, until there remains none left. One Muse is holding a bouquet of brushes, which are dipped in all colours. Everynight it is the business of these mythical creatures to recreate art. A fantastic Museum story.

Painter and performance artist. Long time ago I absolved the Staatliche Hochschule fuer Bildende Kuenste Hamburg. MAMU derives from the abbreviation for Malende Mutter. After having left his studies in Vienna with a bachelor of economics and film my son Niels is living with his great love Trin Liz in Stockholm. My daughter Mira Xenia had got a stipendium for arthistory and history at Princeton and at Harvard University, and she graduated at Harvard. At the present time she is living with her husband Paul Schwerda at Edinburgh. When I was young I went alone to the Ivory Coast in Africa. The musician El Maistro Laba Sosseh, Superstar de Dacar, travelled with me along the African States. The African spirit inspired my painting style. I produced a painting installation: In the name of the law. I thougt about tribal judges doing their ceremonial in the African forest and about our European institutions in the name of the law and about church ceremonials. This is all the same. You have to believe in it or you do not believe in it. Caused by the way of life of my husband the bibliosoph and bookculterer Guenther Rossipaul I have been in court again and again. Several times I had to pay our debts with my paintings. --- In July 18th my husband left this world. www.mamu-kunst.de mamuart@web.de MAMU Read more on my websites www.mamu-kunst.de http://creative.arte.tv/users/MAMU/
