About The Artwork
The piece is mixed media and drawing and painting work. It addresses a news story about a child prostitution and slavery ring in Los Angeles. The black and white figures reperesent Hollywood stereotypes of the the Fifties and Sixties who are oblivous to the figure of the pre-adolescent girl at the edge of the pool. The girl is rendered in color and is a copy of the figure from Edward Munch's "Puberty" from which I appropriated the title.
