Queen – 33x48cm – acrylic and oil pastel on cardboard Part of The Women series exploring women, mood, emotion and colour. My daughter loves her and said when she first saw her that she looked the evil queen from disney films. I think more good than evil but leave it to you to decide. Good or evil, there does seem to be something of a queen about her; something regal, powerful. A strong independent woman. She has character, resilience and self-confidence. There is wisdom, a certain 'knowing', in her eyes and gaze. No rose coloured glasses here. The original is at a reduced price as she's painted on a bit of rough scrap piece of cardboard.

Italy
Visual and mixed media artist. I returned to painting after a long gap, after suffering a stroke a few years back. What started as art as therapy has become daily, joyful creative play inspired by colour and light, The interplay between words and images intrigues me and I'm fascinated by women - their emotions, connection with nature, relationships with themselves and other women. I'm currently working on a series called 'The women' which celebrates sisterhood. I also explore abstract floral and landscape art. Seeking beauty and sparking joy as part of my personal well-being journey. As Matisse once said, 'There are always flowers for those who want to see them.' Originally from the blueberry laden Atlantic shores of Canada, I now live in Sardinia with my husband (the poet farmer) and Violetta (the cat muse).
