A dance of vanishing circles. This painting was inspired by raindrops falling onto pavements and the colours and patterns it creates. I wanted it to have a slightly urban feel with rich brick like colours with dabs and swirls of copper leaf to catch the light adding more depth to the painting. I enjoyed the contrast of clean straight lines of pavement slabs and the concentric circles the raindrops create. A moment in time is captured here on my canvas.

I was born in Wrexham and grew up on a sheep and dairy farm in the pretty Welsh borders. I work from a beautiful studio in the picturesque location of Erbistock. I had a formal art training and after graduating I moved to Stockholm, Sweden looking after two young children. On my return after a variety of jobs, I started working with Dunoon Ceramics producing coffee mug designs which sell all around the world. I have received various awards for my designs on tableware. My paintings are created out of my passion for art, colour, animals and pattern. They speak for me in a language of their own without the use of words. I tend to work in acrylics and water based paint. I often work in a sporadic and spontaneous way applying paint quickly. I want my paintings to inspire joy, beauty and happiness and like music I hope they soothe the soul. My favourite artists include, David Hockney, Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt, LS Lowry, Edgar Degas, Mark Rothko and Canaletto.
