About The Artwork
Born out of experimentation with materials. Many layers to this art. Background is rich-impasto oil paint with an oily coat of red. Then raw pigment was applied on top of the oil... red, yellow, white pigments where used as well as calcium carbonate. Care was put in gestural brushstrokes applied with dammar varnish medium. Heavily symbolic work influenced by the Mexican color palette, the artist´s childhood and the dirty humans reaching up to the heavens.
