Redbud, Road Bed Painting

A Redbud tree at the street end park near where I live put out some spectacular blossoms. I decided to paint a view of the tree as I felt its display was very wild looking. The limbs were relatively irregular and spread out quite a bit from the smallish trunk. The grass was green and other trees were starting to leaf, but at early stages. The body of water is Spa Creek in Annapolis; the view is looking Southeast from the end of Amos Garrett Blvd. I added "road bed" to the title because, at the end of the 19th century, there had been a railroad line through this location leading to a bay-side resort. The tree certainly got my attention. I may have exaggerated the colors slightly, but not by much. For me, the scene has exuberance and solemnity at the same time. .
