About The Artwork

We see a frontal view of the famous Agra mausoleum that I visited on my trip to India. The building complex is shown schematically on a pink background, which is collaged with two square fabrics. On the left there is a red area with flower motifs that covers part of the main motif, on the right of the dome a yellowish patterned textile is glued on, which itself becomes part of the background. The bright mausoleum is located between the two surfaces like an apparition, an afterimage from my memory. The warm colors radiate something cheerful and light. The crowd in the foreground is sketched. The colors are applied thinly to further refine the pink mood of the background. I have succeeded in creating a light-flooded picture that goes back to my personal memories. It was only four years after my trip that I was able to perpetuate my enthusiasm with this picture.

I am a Berlin based painter. I was born in Transylvania and attended an art school and an art academy. I have a classical academic education. After I moved to Germany in 1985, I continued to develop my painting style but also pursued new artistic paths. My work is mostly figurative, centered around societal, lifestyle, political and economic themes. The "modern man" with his way of life, as well as his feelings take up the most prominent place. Textiles, too, have a central role in my work. They are often the triggering element, at the basis of the work process itself. My goal is to create an illusion, so that mixed mediums on the canvas are not visible right away. The paint is applied in a thin layer, so that the process of painting is visible. My work has been shown at several art fairs, such as KIAF, Soul, Art Karlsruhe, Art Market Budapest, Cologne List, Berlin etc. I was fortunate to receive some art scholarships and my paintings are also represented in several private and public collections such as Daimler Art collection, Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau Frankfurt, Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart, Südwestbank Stuttgart, Städtische Kunstsammlung Kirchheim unter Teck, Städtische Museen Heilbronn, Landratsamt Heilbronn, Städtische Galerie Esslingen, Stadt- und Fachwerkmuseum Eppingen, IG Metall- Zentrale Frankfurt am Main, Stadt Güglingen, Stadt Neckarsulm, Heimatmuseum Flacht, E-Werk Freiburg, Hallen für Kunst, TTR Technologiepark Tübingen-Reutlingen, Sammlung KOGART, Budapest, Stadt Samorin/SK, Stadt Štúrovo/SK.
