Remembering a Future Past Painting

The work is very personal, and yet universal. In the image a person is looking up and remembering an idea of what she thought would come to pass, and who she thought she might be. The reversed head is a mysterious and changing portrait, possibly morphing into something unfamiliar. It is an image of quiet recognition and contemplation, that life is full of unexpected directions. The work is inspired by my own experiences. I hope the viewer is inspired and feels a sense of peace in looking at the work. I chose acrylic paint for the versatility of the medium and variety of vivid hues that enhance the brilliance of the idea. Metallic inks offer a high sheen and reflectivity to areas of the faces. A clear acrylic medium between layers of paint and ink enhance the illusion of depth. All materials are professional grade.
