I live on this river, the Weser, and when I am on the water with my sailing boat in the early morning, everything is quiet and calm and the sun can be guessed, then there are such moods. Then the river gets something physical and the world is bathed in a pearly-colored light.

I was born (1953) and raised in Andernach by the river Rhein. After my studies I lived and worked in many different places like Ibiza, Gomera, Kathmandu, India and Kyoto in Japan as a freelance artist for almost 13 years. In those places I had many solo exhibitions. Landscapes and especially trees and water in all their different varieties reveal for me very intense feelings - they are full of hidden perceptions and memories, also they appear as a constant challenge to express in my art works.
