About The Artwork
This painting is one of my latest. There is a hidden depth in the piece: on the surface, the viewer dwells on that pale warm cream & rippling texture, but ones eye wanders into the depth at the bottom, what can one see? Graffiti? Rocks? Trees? A meandering road? Ambiguity hangs over the piece, the uncertainty of texture and layers. What am I looking at? The overall browns & cream tones makes the piece warm & seductive, deep & questioning, almost yearning for a forgotten landscape, with monumentality in its texture. It is a conversation starter. For me, surfaces with shifting colors and marks, random or intentional, carry a visual and poetic resonance within each of my paintings. This painting needs no frame, cords or wires. It is ready to hang on any wall. I would advise two strong wall hooks/nails & hang piece directly onto those. It needs no frame unless desired, the paint marks run right to the paintings crisp edge.
