Painting: Acrylic, Ink, Watercolor, Charcoal on Paper.
Back in Rome after the summer months spent in the Aeolian Islands, my color palette changes. It just seems to happen. I don’t feel inspired to use the bright colors I was using the last few months. In Rome I love using yellow ochre. So many of the buildings are that color. I love the graffiti on the buildings which inspires me to use aggressive scratchy movements. The strong black lines attract your attention and then when you are up closer you see the texture of the scratching. This painting is on 300 gram, 100% cotton watercolor paper. It is signed on the back.
