About The Artwork
This piece is inspired by my late uncle who was a Vietnam War Veteran. Although he served his country proudly, he still had to deal with the constraints of living in America as a Black man. His service didn't spare him the insults, humiliations and indignity of the daily existence in a small Midwest town. It also serves as a dedication to ALL of the men and women who traveled to faraway lands to fight for a freedom that they don't enjoy at home.
