Salvador Painting

This is not a portrait of Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, 1st Marquess of Dalí de Púbol... aka Salvador Dali. This is a painting that tought me to embrace the attitude of Dali - so I named it after him. So many of my paintings begin.... terribly. They're rigid, void of passion and restrained from free expression. It takes me a while to find my grove and let the brush fall where it may. When reading about Dali, you often come across stories of his aloof approach to life. Take this quote from Wikipedia for example: "To the dismay of those who held his work in high regard, and to the irritation of his critics, his eccentric and ostentatious public behaviour often drew more attention than his artwork." We can't all be Dali. But with this bright celebration of his lifestyle hanging on your wall - it at least serves as a little reminder to just a live a little more freely.
