About The Artwork
This painting is part of THE WELCOME TO JUNGLE SERIES from my second solo exhibition. The series consists of 11 endangered animals largely originating from the South East Asian region. Athough the zebra is an exception. The unrestrained style is expressionism meets pop art. The powerful renditions contain layers of unforgiving bold colours, loose brush strokes and textural treatment show the vitality of animals so easily extinguished by Man. The fluid and natural movement evident intentionally stirs up strong emotions - emotions which stress the beauty of wildlife and the freedom it deserves.
