I live near Saratoga Springs, New York, where the oldest racetrack in the country is located. Women wearing fabulous and glamorous hats have become a staple of these events. I decided to paint a series of "Sassy Horses with Hats" as a whimsical expression of the excitement of the races.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
My mind is a vessel to my soul, weaving powerful dreams and images that need to be expressed. Once I begin to create, my art pushes boundaries that nourish my soul and satisfy my creative energy. I challenge myself to strive for realism and to explore new concepts, techniques, and images, which inspire my passion to create and continue in the search for the true spirit of one’s self. Every creation is a renewal and connection between me and the execution of the new image. It is a part of my everyday life. I am moved to make art for reasons that are varied and complex and often intrinsically and intensely personal. Every day I am challenged and inspired. My studio space is filled with inspiration, creativity, and imagination
and my experience will be truly my own. I have found inspiration from my home and travels abroad of
temples, cathedrals, art, people, culture, nature, and religion. Life holds deep meaning which is reflected in my
work. The light shines as an inspiration of hope and the presence of the Holy Spirit.
