ABOUT THE ARTWORK
After painting a commission of the area, I found there was more to paint there I decided to return to the theme of water, what it reflects, surrounds and supports. I felt the paintings would work combining man made objects with water and sky, learning from the past two years of experimenting with drawing the subject first. By drawing the image first I found it was important for the painting’s composition, where the eye moves when you look at a painting. While making drawing it was also easier to edit, working out what worked or not.
