About The Artwork
The work is made with watercolor, ink drawing and silver leaf on a paper collage basis. The collage, made up of various types of watercolor paper with a weight of 300 or 600 grams, frames the animal, giving it prominence and acting as a link between the figure and the background. The turtle thus seems to swim or fly in a sea current made of multi-faceted colors. The ink drawing is the masterpiece with which this artist loves to meticulously describe every detail: observing the work closely we can get lost in every line of the animal, from a distance the figure of the turtle is perfectly clear and recognizable, approaching we see that it is composed of a multi-faceted universe created by details of paper, color and pen. As in most of Irene's works, the animal's eye is alert and looks directly at the viewer.

Irene Meniconi was born in Florence in 1986, then moved, still a child, in the Chianti shire immersed in nature that will always be the foundamental element of inspiration for his artistic creation. After graduating at the “Accademia delle Belle Arti” in Florence, the artist has collaborated with numerous companies from different sectors: from fashion, to food and wine, to publishing, interior decoration for professional offices, public and private spaces. At the same time she carries on her personal artistic work creating mixed media paintings, the result of the studies and of her artistic career brought along in years. She exhibited his works taking part in solo and group exhibitions in many Italian Galleries.
