September Evening, Chapel St. Leonards Painting

I have found much inspiration from the beach on the East Coast of Lincolnshire. This mostly involves found objects which I make into small assemblages, however I have not painted or worked for over a year now as I had a lung condition called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, I was fortunate enough to receive a lung transplant in June this year and this is the first painting completed since the operation. I chose the Beach Huts as they are close to my heart through friends who have owned them and I have spent many happy hours in them. Also they are close by and easily to reach for sketches and colour info. etc. I always painted in oils but now that I have a new lung I have started using acrylics, many of the choices made to create this first painting in a series of works is for practical reasons but I hope like me they remind you of pleasant holidays and childhood.
