About The Artwork

My exploration of art, using straightforward bold washes of color on unprimed canvas (Morris Louis). The application of color hues side by side, and over each other extends theory of color interaction. The use of airbrush, hard edge (Stella) or gradient effect or wash applications (Mark Rothko). Using complementary colors, double complements, triad, analogous washes and square mixtures, plus. The washes are a color development used to stimulate the transparent overlays, creating double shading or middle mixture or spatial level on the same surface or optical penetration. Applying the transparent washes using custom made brushes and airbrush. The raw canvas enhances the intermingling of color and adds suede like finish to the artwork.
