Sinéad O'Connor portrait by Hans Veltman Born in 1966 in Dublin, is an Irish singer-songwriter and musician, known worldwide for her albums as well as for her commitment. She's an artist who has never ceased to make headlines with her vocal talent, her personality and her anti-conformism. Her childhood was marked by the divorce of her parents at the age of 8 and by the corporal abuse inflicted by her mother. She later left her mother and began to take an interest in writing the Irish language and music. In 1984, Sinéad O'Connor embarked on a musical career. The music, her songs are a real therapy that reveals all her past and present sufferings. Sinéad O'Connor announces to stop her musical career in 2021. Several artists - Peaches, Pussy Riot, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish and many others - consider her a pioneer of struggles and women's rights. "Nothing Compares" could do her justice and reveals an icon sacrificed on the altar of self-righteousness.
