This monumental piece is the first totem pole I've ever painted. It soars above everything. It was painted in the winter of 2014 on the chancel of the St. Joseph's Church during our exhibition Guerilla Style together with another work 'Shield of St. Joseph' in the same colour palette. During two months we exhibited in this concrete raw and empty space filled with color of our paintings and photography. The concrete architecture makes St Joseph the first cement Rome Catholic church's of Amsterdam.

Seen we were the only ones with the key to the big wooden doors and also the ones to show visitors around the exhibition I spent two months and long periods of time working on new series. I was alone however I did feel the presence of spirits in the space with clarity. This energy and experience is all translated into this work of art. The painting is unstretched as you can see on the picture 287H cm x 70 W x 0,1cm. If you were to stretch it you have to take in account that you lose a few cm s of all sides. it would then be about 2 73 H by 59 cm W
In my space the painting exceeds the height of my home meaning ideally it would hang in a place with high walls and ceilings.

Art is my prayer. I try to bridge all my experiences into something beautiful, heal any hurt with the magical touch of paint, an eventual mirror, cloth or mosaic. Unlike my fast paced multitask nature, the moment I sit down to paint I enter another realm there where I can reflect and be still. My greatest inspirations and influences are nature and the magnificence of cultures from around the world. In awe of these wonders it is my wish to pause for a moment, express this beauty, whilst giving thanks. Note: Please take in account that nearly all works presented are unstretched. This is due to weight/shipping and storage. Please ask if you have questions concerning the space surrounding the composition. Email: vnomada@yahoo.com
