Skyline 1 Painting

Acrylic on 200g paper laminated on 350g paper – 70 X 50cm Between abstraction and figuration, the architecture of futuristic and dreamlike cities. The Skyline series started in 2022 but it has been in my head for many years. The segment painting technique that I recently developed and already used for the portraits of this series, I had initially considered it for the realization of urban architectures but it turns out that it works very well for portraits as well. I dreamed for a long time to realize these urban landscapes between figuration and abstraction the first click was the encounter with the work of Paul Jenkins who inspired me this work of color as texture and movement. At this technical difference, that for my part I work the paint material before putting it in shape unlike Paul who carries out these two operations jointly. Of course, Kandinsky has always been an important source of inspiration for me and we can see in some works an evocation of his period at the Bauhaus where the abstract evokes the landscape. This series «Skyline» which I do not exclude to extend to other aspects of architecture is led to evolve, it is for this reason that I decided initially to number the works in chronological order in order to notify the evolution.
