The idea of a series of paintings ‘Sleeping Mars’ is taken from the classic paintings, where Venus is sleeping on the sofa. Depicting nude women was the privilege of male-painters. The time has changed, and in my work i also portrait my beloved. On canvases he is idolized to God — Mars. Painting after painting I used red as a background for the model, this time I restricted myself to a cyclamen lines. Here i was much inspired by Marlen Dumas's and Alexander Tinei's works. The series of my Marses was started in March 2015, a month, which was named after this God.
