About The Artwork

I made this painting with many texture ideas in mind. I wanted to experiment the dark background with silver strokes. I used a different technique to paint the outline: I drew the tiger first on another surface, then cut the paper and used it onto the canvas. From there I added different colors that would come out, including primary colors. I think that if this tiger had a story, it would be something along those lines: "The tiger is waiting on a broken log. He feels sleepy and sated, his meal keeping his belly warm. He knows that the hunters will come for him eventually, but he cannot make himself care. What is the point anyway? When so many other before him tried to fight and failed. Those weapons are not what he is used to. After all, he kills to eat, not for sport. Those devil hunters are cunning, and without mercy; their weapons too far out for him to get near and save himself. So he waits. Let them come. Let them think they won. After all, children of the hunters' children will not know the magic of his stripes. They will not understand the power of his body, the beauty of his pelt. They will not witness and wonder... The magic will be gone."

My name is Lolita and I am a Contemporary Painter. I get my inspiration from things I see and hear and read. I have a very wide imagination and my subjects aren't always real. When I walk through the streets of London, I see invisible bridges that wizards cross, children running after pixies and men and women chatting to animals beside them. I paint many subjects and work in different styles. To add to my -sometimes wild - imagination, I am also a strong believer of Achievement and Empowerment. Heroes may be flawed, but as I read somewhere before "perfect is boring" (I can't quite remember who said it, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for that). So, you may notice in my work that I create achievement through an idea or a story, a sense of Self-Belief and Greatness.
